Driftwood by the Sea Supports the Wounded Warrior Run B.C.

                                          They are off!

Early this morning they were off again on the Wounded Warrior Run B.C.
With a cool breeze and cloudy skies they left about 8 am, on their way  to Courtenay and Comox for the third leg of their Run.
Eight hardy souls - a combination of runners and support crew, running  from Port Hardy to Victoria in one week.  A huge challenge for a great cause! Supporting our Canadian soldiers with this First Annual Run.

We are pleased to have provided four warm and cozy Cottages for the whole crew last night and wish them well as they continue their journey South.

A perfect evening shot at the dock at Sayward.  Sayward is a lovely oceanside town about 45 - 55 minutes drive north  from Driftwood by the Sea. Here the tides run fast and the wildlife is outstanding!

The second shot is looking South to Georgia Strait from Birds Eye Cove. A beautiful winter afternoon. Warm and sunny. Birds Eye Cove is about 2 3/4 hours south of Driftwood by the Sea. If you are heading South to Victoria - it is just off the beaten path.

Ocean Falls Reunion in Campbell River!

Our best summer ever, is happening right how!
This long weekend has coincided with the old fashioned summer weather that we all remember from our childhood!

 Soon, we will be hosting several Guests coming for the "Ocean Falls Reunion".

EARLY SPRING IS HERE!!!

Welcome to our wonderful spring weather. Sunny and warm. The crocus' and snowbells are blooming and the grass growing. It has been such a mild and liveable winter this year. What a complete opposite to last year. I will post some pics , tomorrow, if this beautiful weather holds. Several of our 'Snow Birds' are soon making their journey back up to Campbell River and to our Park. We are looking forward to their return.We have been busy all through our winter and are looking forward to an even busier Spring and Summer. More later.

We are so pleased that you have stopped by! We are starting a New Year and a new decade with a Blog to work along side of our Website ( www.driftwoodbythesea.com) The web site is for our RV Park and Cottages located on the Discovery Passage in Campbell River,B.C.

We can keep you up to date on the weather, where the whales are, what the fishing is like and what is happening here at the Park.

We are looking forward to seeing our returning SnowBirds in their RV's and also looking forward to our Guests that will be coming to enjoy our beautiful ocean view Cottages.
Our winter has been mild and wet, rather than white, so we are all happy about this. Our guests, who have stayed over the winter in their RV's have had a relaxing and easy time. They have been out for lots of walks on the SeaWalk, golfing, fishing and skiing on Mt. Washington. Guests from the colder parts of Canada have kept us busy through our cooler season as well, enjoying the Cottages and the terrific views of the ocean , sea traffic and the Lighthouse from their front windows.

Later this week we will be at +10 degrees c. - amazing for January! It won't be long before we will start to see the Cruise Ships plying the waters in front of our Park again. The picture that you see above was taken during the Summer of '09.

We plan to post at least once a week. So to keep up to date - check back as often as you can! For all of our returning Guests - we are looking forward to your return!
